Solar Design Associates completed the world’s 1st solar neighborhood in 1985. New England Electric (then the largest utility in NE) had seen what they could do with individual solar-powered homes and felt it was time for a solar-powered neighborhood. Solar Design Associates designed and installed utility-interactive roof-top PV systems on a neighborhood of post-WW2 ranch houses and also did the Town Hall, Library, Community College and the local Burger King.
