Solar for the Summer Games. SDA provided design and engineering support to the Olympic village design team to incorporate a 350 kWp roof-top PV array on the natatorium complex at the 1996 Olympics on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. The complex also features a custom, barrel-vaulted entry canopy (top left), which is the 1st US application of large-area PV modules as overhead architectural glazing. When completed, this was the largest roof-top PV installation in the world.
